I’ve always admired Americans ability to stratify themselves from other Americans along all sorts of faddish lines, but the fact remains that not too many of them are out of my reach. t (er) The fact that I can piss off so many of you without really going beyond the boundaries of acceptable discourse is not because of anything that is unique about anyone in particular, but because of what is really so common in, and to, all of us.
