Senator Barrasso Of Wyoming Informs Me

That it would be cheaper to give everyone a Blue Shield- Blue Cross card than what Medicare is costing us. I agree. It sounds like single payer to me. Meanwhile back at the ranch, the News Hour crew, with Brooks and Shields sit there like bumps on a log, as if they hadn’t heard a thing the man just said.

I wonder if anyone in DC is aware that Mexico now has universal health care. Maybe Sarah can check in there from her Arizona ranch.

As the contenders and seconds in the United States’ presidential duel continue slapping each others’ cheeks with allegations about who loves Medicare more, Mexico has quietly (at least in decibels heard north of the border) achieved universal health coverage for all of its citizens.

That Mexico could join Canada, Britain, or Israel, among others, in providing for all of its citizens may seem especially remarkable given the country’s frequent one-dimensional depiction as a dystopian narco-state.

Government Employees

The ever shrinking workforce, which like the non-governmental workforce, reflects increasing productivity of labor.

With a population increase, there is an increased demand on government. You know, policemen, firemen, border patrol agents, drug enforcement agents, intelligence communities, military contractors, FDA, SEC, etc.

When Long John Boehner Liked The Stimulus

Seems like just last year,

House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-OH) Said Stimulus Funds Would Create “Much Needed Jobs.” Minority Leader Boehner: “The stated intent of the so-called stimulus package was to create jobs, and certainly a $57 million slush-fund studying projects did nothing to achieve that goal. With Ohio’s unemployment rate the highest it’s been in 25 years, I’m pleased that federal officials stepped in to order Ohio to use all of its construction dollars for shovel-ready projects that will create much-needed jobs.” [Boehner Statement, 6/15/09]

Congressman Boehner Voted Against The Recovery Package Twice [Roll Call Vote #46; Roll Call Vote #70]

The guy is a policy sandwich – a baloney sandwich that is.

He was against it before he was for it before he was against it again.

Elvis Has Left The Building

It seems like only five years ago…

As I wrote on October 25 (A Syriajevo in the making?), the US depends on Iran to maintain stability in Iraq, giving Iran in turn sufficient leverage to thwart American efforts to stop its nuclear weapons program. Asia Times Online’s correspondents have provided compelling evidence to support this conjecture in the meantime. [1] Israel’s military leaders now take it for granted that Iran will become a nuclear power, Stratfor reported on December 1. [2]

Just after September 11, I picked a bone with Sir John Keegan’s claim that “in this war of civilizations, the West will prevail” (Sir John Keegan is wrong: radical Islam might win, October 12, 2001):

Readers who reproached me for using the word “racism” to qualify Washington’s orientation toward the Islamic world should read Keegan’s essay carefully. Here we have the upright Westerner against the underhanded Oriental. Kipling (who wrote vividly about the sneakiness of the British in the Great Game) would blush. It’s all completely, totally, revoltingly wrong. The West confronts not a throwback to medieval Islam, but a Westernized version of Islam transformed into a totalitarian political ideology.

Wait! I’m running around in circles! Wait! Don’t stop me! I’m running around in circles! Wait! Don’t stop me! I’m running around in circles! Wait! Don’t stop me! I’m running around in circles! Wait! Ba Duumpa Duumpa Duumpa Duumpa Du

News Corporation donates $1 million to the Republican Governors Association. Fair enough, the Constitution guarantees freedom of speech in the same amendment as freedom of religion.

News Corporations second largest stock holder is Prince Alwaleed bin Talal, nephew of King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia, a kingdom living under Sharia law.

FOX is of course leading the foaming at the mouth crowd against the Cordoba House because it so close to “911,” of which 15 of the 19 hijackers were from Saudi Arabia.

That my friends is social engineering.
