Taking offense has become America’s national pastime; being theatrically offended supposedly signifies the exquisitely refined moral delicacy of people who feel entitled to pass through life without encountering ideas or practices that annoy them.
As noted earlier,
Until 1999, Greece’s board usually opened its meetings with a moment of silence. Since then, it has invited local clergy, most of whom are Christians, to deliver prayers, most of which have had Christian content.
Many Christians have gone from making disciples to making a showy display of their faith, offensively so, and I suppose they are having their reward in full. That having been said, conservatives have lost any shred of respect for the views, values and property of others, as this case so clearly demonstrates, and as Mr. Will so ably obfuscates, which upon failure is then wrapped in the star spangled banner of nationalism.
If that’s Christianity no wonder so many are abandoning it.
