Ham On Nye

I didn’t watch the debate since I was busy picking lint out of my belly button, but

“The Bible says God created in six days,” Ham says. He describes how the genealogies in the Bible are added up, with the help of a slide.

“From Adam to Abraham — you’ve got 2,000 years from Abraham to Christ, 2,000 years from Christ to the present, 2,000 years,” Ham says, “that’s how we reach 6,000 years,” he says.

But to people who say Earth is 4.5 billion years old, Ham says “we certainly observe radioactive decay,” but “when you’re talking about the past, we have a problem.”

He cites a basalt layer found in Australia in which wood was found to have been a wildly different age from the basalt it had been in.

“My point is, all these dating methods give all sorts of different dates,” Ham says.

I agree, so I take 2 Peter 3:8, But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day., and cross reference that to Psalm 90:4 A thousand years in your sight are like a day that has just gone by, or like a watch in the night., (just to chap Lewis Black’s ass,) and multiply 2000X365.4X1000 and end up with 730,800,000 years from Adam to Abraham, using Biblical mathematics. That makes mankind older than Moses.

Hence the admonition to Titus 3:9 But avoid foolish controversies and genealogies and arguments and quarrels about the law, because these are unprofitable and useless. Which once was a vice for Christians, but has now become a habit. Which brings us to the point missed by evangelicals and fundamentalists, 44 “They also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?’

45 “He will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.’

46 “Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.”You should outside of yourselves once in a while, for whether it is true of you individually or not, that is how you appear to the many. And how will you convince those non-believers when you yourselves do not appear to believe the Christ? Most truly I say to you, you are babbling in tongues and appear as though mad.
